SORT CSV FILES

This sorting program provides a means to sort a CSV (comma separated value) file on as many as 150 keys. The file can have as many as 2,000 lines of entry. Below is a SAMPLE of a CSV file. The option to produce an index file or a sorted file or both is possible. The location of the index or sorted file does not have to be in the dame directory as the input file.

The index file and sorted file are indicated by name and the key used to produce them. For example, if the file to be sorted is temp.csv and you want to produce an index file and sorted file on the 5th key, the output would be name index5temp.csv and sorted5temp.csv

The system will check the file to see that it is a true CSV file and then indicate the number of keys in the file. The operator then selects the key which will be used to sort the file.
