The student is introduced to the concepts of ions, valences, cations, anions, radicals and ionic bonds. Ionic bond formation is illustrated. There are multiple practice examples of compound formation. The valence of the elements and radicals are shown so that the student can learn how cations and anions or radicals combine to form ionic bonds. The names of the compounds formed are learned in this process.
